What is a Length of Service Accrual? 

A Length of Service Accrual is used to automatically increase a users allowance/balance once they've hit a certain number of months/years of service within your company.

What is the difference between an Allowance Increase and a Policy Change?

An Allowance Increase is used to increase a users allowance while all their other settings remain the same.  This is most often used when time-off policies have not been created within the account.

A Policy Change is used to automatically bump a user from one policy to another when they reach a certain number of months/years of service within your company.

  1. Time-Off 
  2. Settings
  3. Length of Services
  4. Allowance Increase - Add New
  5. Name the Accrual
  6. Identify if anyone should be notified of this change
  7. Add New
  8. Select which Time-off Type will be added to
  9. Select which month of service this increase will occur
  10. Define how many days/hours it will increase by
  11. Define how the increase will affect the balance.
  • Full -> The Allowance increase will be added to the balance in full. 
  • None-> The Allowance increase will not affect the balance until the renewal. 
  • Prorated-> The Allowance increase will be added to the balance but in proration if applicable. 
  1. Choose if the extra allowance will be rewarded on the Anniversary date or renew on the Calendar Year
  2. Add
  3. Assign accrual to users by going back to the Lenght Of Services screen 
  4. Select the Icon with a little person with a (+) sign
  5. Select the Users in question
  6. Apply Length Of Service
  1. Time-Off 
  2. Settings
  3. Length of Services
  4. Policy Change - Add New
  5. Name the Policy Change
  6. Identify if anyone should be notified of this change
  7. Add Policy to Apply
  8. Select the Time-off Policy
  9. Select which month of service the policy will change
  10. Choose if the Policy will change on the Anniversary or on the Calendar Year
  11. Add
  12. Add any other policies needed.
  13. Assign accrual to users by going back to the Lenght Of Services screen 
  14. Select the Icon with a little person with a (+) sign
  15. Select the Users in question
  16. Apply Length Of Service

 

Hints & Tips 

To view what LOS users are assigned to, run the User Information Report and add the Length of Service Accrual column.  This will show both who is on each LOSA as well as which users have not been assigned one.
