Create a Performance Review Template

Performance review templates allow organizations to standardize the review process. Templates can be customized based on departments, office locations, or organizational needs.

Steps to Create a Template

1. Access Template Settings

  • From the Settings menu, select Performance Reviews.
  • Click the Templates tab.

2. Create a New Template

  • Click New Template.
  • Enter a template name (e.g., Customer Service, Head Office, Sales).

3. Configure Template Options

  • Under Options, select the sections to include:
    • Goals: All goals in progress or completed.
    • Feedback: Submitted by employee, manager(s), or peers.
    • Skills: Skills entered or modified within Staff™.
    • Notes: Notes added within Staff™ (visibility restrictions apply).
    • Attendance: Leave recorded in Time-Off™.
    • Warnings: All warnings issued (accepted or declined).

Important:

  • Displayed information depends on:
    • The date range selected when creating a review.
    • Subscribed modules
(e.g., if Time-Off™ is not enabled, attendance will not appear).

4. Require Employee Signature (Optional)

  • Choose if the review requires an employee signature.
  • If required, the review is marked complete only after signing.

5. Add Questions

  • Beside the template name, click the pencil icon.
  • Click Add Question.
  • From the dropdown, select a Competency to view associated questions.
  • Choose the question to add.
  • Repeat for all desired questions.
  • Tip: Preview your template anytime by selecting Preview Template.

Restrict Visibility

The Restrict Visibility setting controls who can view a performance review:

  • If an employee has multiple managers and Restrict Visibility is enabled:
    • Only the manager who initiates the review can access it.
    • Other managers will not see the review.
  • If an admin starts the review:
    • Assigned managers cannot view the review.

Purpose:
Maintains confidentiality and ensures only relevant participants access sensitive review data.

Additional Notes

  • Templates can only be created by administrators.
  • Use department or office-based templates for tailored reviews.
  • Visibility restrictions help protect sensitive information.
