Audit Log

The Audit Log page provides visibility into key changes made across your PurelyHR account. It allows administrators to track updates to settings, configurations, and user profiles for improved transparency, accountability, and audit readiness.

Where to Find Audit Logs

Navigate to Staff > Reports > Audit Log to access the audit log page.


What Gets Logged

Staff Module

The audit log tracks changes to all employee profile information, including:

  • Profile Tab: Name, contact information, and personal details
  • Employment Tab: Job title, department, employment status
  • Account Tab: User account settings and credentials
  • Compensation Tab: Salary, bonuses, and compensation adjustments
  • Skills Tab: Employee skills and certifications

Note: Notes, Values, Qualifications, and Talent changes are not included in the audit log.

TimeOff Module

Comprehensive tracking of time-off related changes:

  • Account settings and configuration changes
  • TimeOff Type settings and policies
  • Prorated balance adjustments
  • TimeOff Policy modifications
  • Length of Service (LOS) updates
  • Special Event Date entries
  • TimeOff Restrictions
  • Individual user settings:
    • Allowance and Balance adjustments
    • Approval Hierarchy changes
    • Management settings
    • Balance Accrual configurations
    • Service Accrual settings
    • Calendar View preferences

System-Wide Account Settings

Changes to account-level settings are logged across all modules:

  • Staff
  • TimeOff
  • Warnings
  • Performance
  • Time-Clock
  • Time-Sheet
  • (Talent module does not have account settings)

What Information is Displayed

Each audit log entry shows:

  • Date & Time: Exact timestamp of the change
  • User Making Change: The person who performed the modification
  • Property Changed: The specific field or setting that was modified
  • Old Value: The previous value (before the change)
  • New Value: The current value (after the change)
  • User Affected: When applicable, the employee whose record was changed (for user-specific changes like profile updates or individual time-off settings)

Examples

The audit log captures changes such as:

  • A manager updating an employee's compensation
  • HR adjusting an employee's time-off balance or accrual settings
  • Changes to approval hierarchies for time-off requests
  • Modifications to manager reporting relationships
  • Updates to company-wide time-off policies or settings
