Auto-Approving Time-Off Requests

PurelyHR gives Administrators flexible options to automatically approve time-off requests. This helps reduce manual approvals and streamlines workflows.

Auto-Approval Options

You can configure requests to auto-approve in several ways:

  1. By Time-Off Policy

    • Assign a Time-Off Type to a specific Policy and have it automatically approved for all users under that policy.

  2. For Non-Deductible Time-Off Types

    • Automatically approve requests when submitted by:

      • Employees and Managers, or

      • Only Managers.

  3. For Specific Users

    • Grant auto-approval for a particular user regardless of policy.

  4. When Managers Create Requests on Behalf of Users

    • Requests submitted by a Manager for their employee can be auto-approved.


How to Enable Auto-Approval

Auto-Approve on a Deductible Time-Off Type

  1. Go to Time-Off Module → Settings → Time-Off Policies
  2. Select Edit on the desired policy
  3. Enable Auto Approval

Auto-Approve on a Non-Deductible Time-Off Type

  1. Go to Time-Off Module → Settings → Time-Off Types
  2. Select a Non-Deductible Type → Edit
  3. Enable Auto Approval

Auto-Approve for a Specific User

  1. Go to Time-Off Module → Manage Users → User List
  2. Select the user and choose Edit User Settings → Allowance Tab → Edit
  3. Enable Auto Approval

Auto-Approve When a Manager Requests on Behalf of a User

  1. Go to Time-Off Module → Manage Users → User List
  2. Select the user and choose Edit User Settings → Management Tab → Edit
  3. Check the Auto Approved option
