New Overtime (OT) Rules with Multiple Multipliers
We are updating our Overtime (OT) capabilities! You will be able to configure Overtime Rules that include multiple pay code multipliers, giving you greater flexibility and accuracy in how employee overtime is calculated and reported.
How to Set Up Overtime Rules
-
Go to Time-Clock or Time-Sheet> Settings > Overtime Rules
-
Click Add Rule
-
Choose your Rule Type:
-
Daily Overtime – triggers overtime after a certain number of hours worked in a single day
-
Weekly Overtime – triggers overtime after a total number of hours worked in a week
-
Combined – applies both daily and weekly thresholds together (e.g., more than 8 hours in a day and more than 44 hours in a week)
-
-
Select the Pay Code to apply when the rule triggers
-
Click Save to apply the rule
Scenario: You want to pay overtime when an employee works more than 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.
Setup: Create one rule for “Daily > 8 hours” and another for “Weekly > 44 hours”, both using the same pay code.

-
-
Click Save
-
You can assign pay codes to multiple Overtime Rules.

Tips
-
You can create multiple rules to cover different thresholds or multipliers.
-
Make sure your pay codes are set up and labeled clearly before assigning them to rules.
