Override Default Hours
The Override Default Hours setting allows administrators, managers, and employees to adjust the number of hours for a full-day or multi-day time-off request. This is useful if an employee’s actual working hours differ from the default hours set in your Account Settings—ensuring the correct amount of time is deducted from their balance.
How It Works
When this setting is turned ON, users creating a time-off request will see a field where they can change the default hours.
Example:
If your default workday is set to 8 hours, but you work 4 hours on Fridays, you can override the hours for that specific Friday request to 4 hours. This way, the correct number of hours will be deducted from your balance.
Turning the Feature On or Off
- Go to Account Settings→ Time-Off Request.
- Locate the Override Default Hours option.
- Toggle the setting ON or OFF based on your preference.
Who Can Use This Feature?
- Administrators – Can override hours for any employee.
- Managers – Can override hours for their team members.
- Employees – Can override hours for their own requests (if enabled).
Tip: This feature is especially handy for teams with varied schedules, part-time hours, or shortened workdays.
